This is a fully isolated device which protects your equipment from surges on the communication lines. If you have had lightning damage caused by surges on transmission lines then this converter is the protection you need.

The distributed Smart Switch is an addressable RS 232 to RS 485 converter. It allows you to address multiple RS 232 devices using a two wire or four wire, RS 422 or RS 485 network.

The 232PS2 allows you to convert your parallel port to serial or you can convert your serial to parallel communication format.
